The Crusaders were dissapointed in their season opener on Wednesday against the RedHawks of Indiana University - Northwest, falling short by a score of 90-80.

After falling behind by nine at the break, and seeing the deficit increase to fifteen early in the second, the team rallied to cut the deficit to four, only for IUNW to pull away at the end to win by ten.

"There are small adjstments that have to be made," says assistant coach Carmichael Gully, "there were a lot of layups around the basket that were missed, and we need to shore up, tighten up the indiviual responsibilities on defense."

GLCC struggled from the floor all night, converting only 35% of their field goal attempts and 9/18 at the stripe. Kyle Downing led GLCC with 21 points and nine rebounds. Three RedHawks scored 17 or more points, led by Devin Ellis with 24.

Next up for the Crusaders; a clash at Aquinas on Monday.
