It was a long week for Great Lakes basketball.
On the 5th, the team fell short 75-50 at Huntington University, a team that they had nearly upset a home, the month before. The team shot a paltry 35.6% from the floor in the loss.
After falling on the road to Holy Cross-Notre Dame by ten on the 10th, the Crusaders hosted Spring Arbor last night. The team trailed by only six at the break, 36-30, but a ten-point SAU run put the game away for good. Kyle Downing led the GLCC effort with 22 points.
Also in action this week were the JV squad, as they saw their first home action on Saturday, falling only at the last, 78-77, in a friendly against Detroit Jobs Corps. DeAngelo Brown led the Crusaders with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Next up for GLCC; a men's and women's doubleheader that starts at 2:00 on Saturday at the Doty Center against Robert Morris.
