Great Lakes were disappointed in Saturday's match against reigning conference and league champions Moody Bible Institute, falling by a score of 2-0.

The first half-hour saw Moody dictating the play, but unable to break the Crusader defence. It appeared that the Lakes had taken the lead in the 31st when Jeremy Klepal fed a long ball to Izzy Sesay, who shed a defender, went past the goalkeeper, and finished, but the referee ruled that Sesay had fouled the defender on the play, and the goal was dissallowed.

It would be Moody who would break the deadlock when, in the fifth minute of first half stoppage time, they scored off of a shot that bounded off of GLCC goalkeeper Jeremy Smith's hands and into the net. The half ended soon after with Moody ahead 1-0.

Early in the second half, Great Lakes produced some chances but were unable to finish. The game devolved into a mass of humanity fighting for possession in midfield, with no advantage to be had for either team.

Perhaps the best opportunities for an equaliser came in the 81st, when Peter Stebbins had a pair of free kicks which he flighted into the box, only to see the ball collected by the Moody keeper.

Moody put the final mark on the score sheet in 88th minute on a near post header off of a corner kick, giving them a 2-0 advantage that would hold until the final whistle.
