It’s back to ‘back to the drawing board’ for the Crusaders after a very unimpressive three-game stretch over the weekend took them to a 0-6 start to the season.

It began on Thursday as GLCC took on Bethel College of the NAIA. The team were thoroughly outclassed, 120-61. Things didn’t get much better the next day in the first round of the Huntington tournament, as the team lost 85-51 to Huntington University.

On Saturday, the team put out a much better performance, falling short at the end, 70-66, to Judson College in the consolation game on the tournament. Perri Vaden led the way for the Lakes with 18 points.

Michael Vickers, who scored 11 points against Judson, said after the game, “it takes heart now.”

“The odds are against us. Everything is against us now. We need to attack the boards. We must be better at the boards.”

Up Next: The Lakes head out to their first conference game of the season, at Grace Bible College, on Tuesday at 7:00 in Grand Rapids.
