GLCC Sponsors Lugnut's Postgame Concert

Lugnuts Game & Rush of Fools Concert

Once again the College sponsored the Lugnuts Christian Family Night in downtown Lansing. The game was followed by a free Christian concert by Rush of Fools. This was the final concert of their week-long tour raising money for charities all over the state of Michigan. GLCC has sponsored this concert tour and the Lugnuts Christian Family Night for the past three years.
The game and concert were on Sunday evening, August 26 as the freshman were just finishing up their week of orientation and the upper classmen were moving back onto campus to begin the new school year. The College decided to make a big party out of it and reserved Gasoline Alley, the centerfield private grilling deck and outdoor cafe for all of our students! The students were treated like VIPs at this private function reserved solely for them. Many faculty and staff also attended the game and enjoyed the Rush of Fools concert immediately following the game.
“Our intention was to give the incoming freshman an opportunity to meet the returning students and get to know one another and their professors in a fun, relaxed setting. And they did! Everyone seemed to have a great time! We wanted our students to know how much we love and care for them, and this was a great opportunity to do just that.” - Phil Beavers, VP of Institutional Advancement

The 2012 GLCC Golf Benefit was successful again this year as 100 golfers came together from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida to golf at Centennial Acres in August. Twenty businesses and individuals partnered with us to sponsor the event. Over $13,000 was raised to underwrite the GLCC Crusader athletic budget. Next year’s event will be August 10, 2013.
