You know when you go to a conference on youth ministry and you have that fantastic workshop? The leader is an expert, and they power through 60 minutes of great material in 45 minutes. There’s just enough time to catch some of the really hot burning ideas and file them away before the workshop is over. Sometime later you find yourself on a couch in one of those lounge areas in the conference center talking with youth workers from a variety of places big church, small church “just like your” church, volunteer, paid, trained, “making it up as you go”….all absorbing the same stuff and trying to make it work in their world.
What follows is often the core of the conference a sort of workshop processing session. All the people on those couches are experts in their context, and they ask questions like “How does that work for you?” and “What would you change?”
Those times are the best. GLCC’s Youth Ministry Crash is a whole day devoted to recreating that moment led by Brian Baldwin, Director of Student Life at GLCC. We invite you to come to GLCC on February 29, land on some comfy couches with youth workers from all over. With a creative format designed to provoke great conversation, you’ll find challenging questions and practical ideas.
