Compassionate Care
Start your career in nursing or the allied health professionsÂ
This interdisciplinary program combines substantial training in psychology and science to provide students with the base knowledge they need to pursue person-centered care professions, particularly nursing, chaplaincy and a variety of allied health professions such as physical and occupational therapy, nutrition, kinesiology, dental hygiene, and radiology.
This degree does not provide credentials for such fields but meets most of the prerequisites needed to pursue the additional education and training that they require.
GLCC offers two paths for students preparing for nursing or allied health careers: the Bachelor’s in Compassionate Care and the Associate of Arts: Science Track. Both provide a strong foundation in the humanities, Bible, and Christian faith while covering the majority of prerequisites needed for nursing and other allied health programs.
Graduates are well-positioned to enter BSN, RN, or other allied health degree tracks. Because each transfer institution sets its own requirements—and those can change—no school can promise a perfect one-to-one transfer. However, GLCC’s curriculum is designed to meet the most commonly required prerequisites, and every student is paired with an advisor who understands transfer pathways and helps chart the most efficient route to the next program.
