Transfer Admission

How to Transfer

  1. Apply – Complete our transfer application. The application typically takes 10 minutes to complete.
  2. Send Test Scores – Test scores are not required, but may improve your amount of financial aid.
  3. Transcripts – As a college-level transfer student, you must obtain complete transcripts from each college or university previously attended. Official transcripts for all college credits must be sent directly to the Admissions Office.

Transfer Credits

Have you completed courses within the Michigan Transfer Agreement? If you have met the requirements below, your current school should label your transcript ‘MTA-certified’. But you should check with your school’s registrar to be sure.

With an MTA-certified transcript that meets the requirements below, GLCC will waive all general education requirements except for one course, which is unique to our institution. (An incomplete MTA-certified transcript will transfer in the general education courses that correspond with the completed courses.) Any courses outside the general education block will be evaluated by our registrar to determine which courses will transfer in as other required or elective courses.

Not eligible for the Michigan Transfer Agreement? Our registrar will determine which of your courses qualify to transfer in as required or elective courses.

Academic Requirements

Transfer courses from another college or university–both MTA-participating and non-MTA participating–must have a grade of at least 2.0 and be a 100-level course or higher.

Transfer to GLCC using the Michigan Transfer Agreement

MTA is a Michigan statewide agreement designed to facilitate the transfer of General Education Requirements from participating community colleges to participating four-year colleges and universities. This agreement was developed by the State of Michigan’s Committee on the Transferability of Core College Courses.

If you are currently enrolled at a participating institution (click here to see list) and have met the MTA requirements below, Great Lakes Christian College will waive our General Education Core (41 credits out of 43), requiring only 1 remaining course unique to our institution.
