Open Position:
Science Professor (FT or PT)
Great Lakes Christian College (Lansing, MI) is seeking qualified applications for a full-time or part-time on-campus science professor. Employment will begin July 1, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates with significant teaching or medical experience who hold a terminal degree in science, medicine, or a closely related field. Consideration will also be given to someone with relevant experience and a master’s degree in the field.
- Candidates must be able to teach a variety of life/biology/health science courses – most notably Anatomy & Physiology.
- Candidates must demonstrate eagerness to grow GLCC’s Compassionate Care program; commitment to the values, churches, and institutions affiliated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ; and passion to follow Christ and seek God’s kingdom first in all things.
- Candidates must possess the desire and ability to teach effectively, mentor young adults, work well with a team, and improve as a teacher and course developer.
Responsibilities
- Role specific responsibilities include teaching, mentoring, advising, tending to committee assignments, engaging in campus life, participating in faculty meetings, assessing curriculum in one’s area of expertise, and using one’s gifts
and passions to serve the wider college and community. - Faculty members are expected to spend at least 30 hours per week on campus, August—May, and a handful of days over the summer. They must also represent the college well before the wider public, engage GLCC’s constituencies

Pre-employment and Post-employment Screening

All GLCC employees undergo periodic criminal background rescreening to ensure they have not been charged with a crime since having been hired.
