Position Summary

Great Lakes Christian College is seeking a Christ-centered, energetic, and motivated
individual to serve as the Head Golf Coach. This part-time position is responsible for
leading and developing the men’s and women’s golf program in a manner that supports
the mission and values of Great Lakes Christian College while fostering spiritual growth,
academic success, and competitive excellence among student-athletes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to Christian higher education,
servant leadership, student-athlete development, and effective recruitment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain academically qualified student-athletes who align with the
    mission and values of Great Lakes Christian College.
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of the golf program, including practices,
    competitions, travel, and player development.
  • Schedule contests and tournaments that meet NCCAA competition requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a positive team culture emphasizing Christian character,
    sportsmanship, and academic success.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts with the Admissions Office and Athletic Department.
  • Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete retention.
  • Manage program budgets and approved expenditures responsibly.
  • Organize fundraising and community engagement activities as approved by the
    Athletic Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCCAA, institutional, and departmental policies and
    procedures.
  • Represent Great Lakes Christian College positively within the community and at
    athletic events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Coaching and/or competitive golf experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of Great Lakes
    Christian College.
  • Ability to recruit and mentor student-athletes effectively.

Preferred

  • Collegiate coaching experience.
  • Experience recruiting student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of NCAA/NAIA/NCCAA rules and regulations.
  • Experience in fundraising and program development.

Compensation

  • Part-time stipend position.
  • Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
