There is a room on our campus that is representative of 65 others on campus. The bed frame wobbles. The dresser drawers don’t fully close. The desk has been repaired more than once. It’s not a dignified place to end a day of classes and activities. It ends up being a distraction from things our students should be focusing on, and yet it’s what we’ve been asking them to live with for years.
We finally have a way to fix that. A college closing its doors this year is offering us its dorm furniture (bedframes, mattresses, dressers, and desks), all only two years old, for $350 a set. That’s a fraction of what new furniture would cost us, and the quality is far better than we currently have.
We need 165 sets to refurnish all 66 rooms before our students move in this fall. Because that date is quickly approaching, and through advanced gifts to this project, we’ve already begun purchasing this furniture. What we’re asking now is for friends like you to come alongside and help us complete it.
A gift of $350 flips a set for one student.
