Music
Develop Your Musical Talent and Calling
The music department at Great Lakes Christian College seeks to encourage the student to cultivate musical skills and talent. Students are given opportunities to understand, appreciate, and utilize a variety of musical forms in several different contexts—worship, public performance, and for private enjoyment.
The Music Major Program is designed to equip students in music and worship ministry areas for the local church, to give them experience in performance, to help them gain expertise in their primary instrument (voice, piano, or guitar), and to provide a foundation for further music study.
GLCC’s Music major offers two concentrations to help students tailor their training. The Single Instrument Emphasis focuses on developing strong technical skill, musicianship, and performance ability on a primary instrument. The Worship Arts Emphasis combines musical training with worship leadership skills, preparing students to serve effectively in church and ministry settings. Both tracks equip students to grow as skilled, purposeful musicians.
