Psychology & Counseling
Prepare to Serve and Support Others with Insight and Skill
Churches and para-church organizations increasingly depend on Christian counselors to address the emotional, relational, and spiritual needs of their employees, members, and clients. As people face growing pressures related to family, work, mental health, and faith, the ability to offer compassionate, biblically grounded guidance has never been more important. Counseling within a Christian context provides meaningful support, fosters personal healing, and helps individuals navigate life’s challenges through the lens of Scripture. This kind of ministry strengthens not only the lives of individuals but also the health and unity of the broader Christian community.
The Psychology & Counseling program at GLCC equips students with a strong foundation in human behavior, counseling theory, interpersonal skills, and a Christ-centered understanding of care. Students learn how to listen well, respond wisely, and provide support ethically and responsibly in a variety of ministry and helping environments. While this degree prepares graduates for impactful service and lays the groundwork for advanced study, it does not qualify students for professional counseling licensure. Nearly all licensed counseling roles require a graduate-level degree, and this program positions students to pursue those pathways with confidence.
