Scholarships & Grants
Making College Affordable
- Apply and be accepted to Great Lakes Christian College
- Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and list Great Lakes Christian College with School Code: 002269.
- Submit the Funded Scholarship Application for 2026–2027 academic year.Â
The Scholarship Application deadline is April 10, 2026. Late applications will be considered for unused scholarship monies.
Grants
State Grants
- Michigan Tuition Grant – This scholarship is available to any student who is enrolled at least half-time and meets the Michigan residency requirement. Grants range from $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 per year, based on financial need and enrollment status.
Federal Grants
- Pell Grant – Any undergraduate degree student who does not already possess a bachelors degree may apply for a Pell Grant by submitting a FAFSA. These grants range from $692.00 to $6,895.00 a year, based on financial need and enrollment status.
- Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) – SEOG grants range from $100 to $4000, and are given on the basis of exceptional financial need.
Over 90% of students who fill out the FAFSA qualify for financial aid.

Academic Scholarships
Academic scholarships are awarded based on a student’s high school GPA. standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, or CLT provide you with a bonus scholarship).

Eligibility and Renewal
- Scholarships can be renewed for a maximum of four years.Â
- The cumulative GPA of enrolled students is evaluated annually for scholarship renewal.Â
- Failure to maintain required GPA may result in reduction or elimination of the scholarship.Â

The SAI Scholarship
These financial need scholarships are available for on-campus students based on their Student Aid Index (SAI) from FAFSA. SAI recipients are limited to $7,500 in total institutional aid. A minimum HS GPA of 2.7 or College Transfer GPA of 2.2 is needed. The award amounts are as follows:Â

Church Match Scholarship
GLCC will match every dollar that a church sends in support of a student’s tuition up to a limit of $8,000/year in total institutional aid.*
*Recipients are also eligible to apply for GLCC funded scholarships. All unfunded institutional aid is capped at $8,000.Â
Legacy Scholarship
The Legacy Scholarship awards students with a parent who is a full-time, ordained minister. The award provides 12 credit hours per semester after all other institutional aid* and Pell grants are applied. There are other requirements that must be completed.Â
Veteran’s Discount
U.S. military veterans, active service members, and the spouses and children of these individuals receive a 15% tuition discount.

There are many websites offering free scholarship searches. The best time for searches is during the fall semester for the following year.
