Housing and Residential Life

Great Lakes Christian College offers a welcoming, community-centered living experience designed to help students grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Housing is required for single students under 21 or those with fewer than 61 credit hours who are enrolled full-time.

Residence Halls

Matthews Hall (Women’s Housing)

Matthews Hall is GLCC’s women’s residence hall, featuring three floors of suites with shared bathrooms. Students enjoy access to a first-floor lounge and laundry room. Entry into the building requires a student ID swipe for security.

Hasty Hall (Men’s Housing)

Hasty Hall is the men’s residence hall and includes a shared common room, suite-style rooms with individual bathrooms, and a first-floor laundry room. Your Resident Assistant will provide the access code for laundry facilities.

Family Housing

GLCC offers one- and two-bedroom apartment units for married students or students with small families. A laundry room is located on the first floor. Priority is given based on marriage, children, age, and timing of requests.

Housing Policies

  • Check-In: Students check in at the beginning of each semester during posted times and will receive room keys upon arrival.
  • Checkout: Rooms must be cleaned and returned to their original condition. Returning mailbox keys and completing checkout is required to avoid fines and retain the room deposit.
  • Laundry: Laundry facilities are free for residents. Students must label their loads using name magnets and may not move other students’ laundry. Items left for 24+ hours may be collected by staff.
  • Visitors: Students may host guests with RD approval, but may not host visitors of the opposite sex in their housing areas. Guests may stay up to five nights.
  • Room & Building Expectations: Students are responsible for cleanliness, proper trash disposal, and respecting community areas. Room inspections occur regularly.
  • Mailroom: All students receive a campus mailbox and key. Mail is distributed Monday–Friday, and large packages can be picked up during business hours. Replacement mailbox keys cost $25.
